Fixation Daydream

While cruising Etsy for nail polish I came across Fixation ( recently re-named Northern Star Polish) selling 3 awesome colors, so I got them all! Hooray for careless spending!

This is Daydream, a Fuschia Pink packed with rainbow glitter. This was taken out of my cart and sold to someone else while I was checking out thru Paypal, so I emailed and asked if I could do a custom order for it. I never heard back but when my order arrived in the mail, this was included for free.   She didn't even know I had a blog, so that shows it was a truly kind gesture.  Thanks heaps!

This is also the big 3 free!

60th Wedding Anniversary

Today is my Grandparents 60th Wedding Anniversary!

I am afraid that their generation might be the last to celebrate wedding anniversarys of this length, seeing as every 2.2 marriages out of 3 now end in divorce. Attitudes have changed and couples don't seem to be bothered to tough out the hard times as much as they once did.

My Grandma wore orange blossoms in her hair and in her bouquet.  I wish she still had her dress, the satin bodice and covered buttons looks divine.  It was tiny, even after 2 kids she had a tiny waist.

Who else has grandparents or family celebrating huge wedding milestones this year?

Wintersun!

I am currently in Coffs Harbour at Australia's biggest Vintage Festival, Wintersun! I am away for 10 days but never fear!  I have scheduled posts ready to go.  I just may not be able to reply to posts until I return.  I will be back with lots of photos and lots of gossip!

Splatter Nails

So I spent an hour on these...blowing and dipping and blowing and dipping. Blowing and dipping. Got nail polish on the rug, all over my phone and the bottles look like mini works of graffiti art.

After an hour I ended up with this mess. As you can tell, I didn't really like them. It all came off the next day.

I used Color Club Neons: Twiggie, Almost Famous and Warhol with Jessica's King Tut's Gems over black. Finished with a coat of Seche QD.

Floam

So, because you have all seen it a million times...here it is on me. Three coats of Floam with 2 coats of Seche QD.

I got mine form Ninja Polish where the girls there very kindly let you know when they restock items so make sure you put in to be notified!

A Bunch Of Swatches From The Recesses Of My Computer Files

I was cleaning (deleting) my files when I found a bunch stuff I have never posted.

For The Worse....a Few Vintage Looks

These are the outfits I wore but looked back on at the end of the day and thought "What was I thinking?" So along with the good shots I always show you, here are some of the bad.

This mid-thigh length cherries top didn't do me any favours squeezed into my slightly too tight (at the moment) Freddies overalls. The hair scarf was also a tad too costume-y for my liking.

A polkadotted top with leoprd print cardi seemed like a good idea at the time. Or maybe it was the huge bow scarf in the hair that tipped it over the edge?  Miss now 4 looks too cute for words tho in her red sequined hi-tops and hairbows.

This Bernie Dexter dress normally looks great, but with a super ruffly bolero it was a little too much. The shoes are also a huge no-no for me....criss-crossed straps stopping at the ankle cut me off and make me look even more Oompaloomaish than usual.

So, now you all have the inside scoop on my bad outfit days.  Who else has bad outfit stories to share?
