Little Bo Peep

For some reason this combo makes me think of Little Bo Peep.  It's rather girly and sugar sweet.
A-England's Princess Tears on Pointer and Little fingers, Orly Artifical Sweetener on Middle and Ring with China Glaze Full Spectrum Glitter.  Stamped with Konad White and oh yes, hello rhinestones!

Abov photos were under artificial light.  Below is in natural sunlight.

On another note, nobody really comments on my nail posts any longer.  Is this something nobody is interested in seeing on this blog any more?  Shall I cut out the nail posts? Feedback is most welcome.

Another Novelty Skirt

I just can't HELP it.  I see a cutesy novelty print and it turns my brain to mush. NEVER MIND that I'm on my way of being too old to wear them or that I really am not a DOG person, so why would I possibly want everything with Scotty Dogs on them??  There is no explaining it.  Plus, you guys KNOW how I am with huge pockets.

Our local Handmade Artists Market is where this one came from.  A modern reproduction of a 50's circle skirt.  This is my 3rd skirt from 'Gathered That' and all of them get comments every single time I wear them.  She actually called me over when she saw me and said she made a skirt for me....this Scotty Dog one.....so I couldn't exactly not buy it....could I??!

Circle skirt: Gather'd That
Top: Freddies of Pinewood
Shoes: Miss L Fire
Trashy Diva sunnies
Chiffon scarf Thrifted
Hair Flower: Dynamite-darling, ebay

The next day I wore it with my handmade Scotty necklace set.  Want to make one?  Follow my directions HERE.  Fabulous 50's rhinestone cat eye sunnies and my chiffon headscarf again.

So there.

the Balm Stainiac PROM QUEEN

the Balm recently sent me a tube of Stainiac in Prom Queen, a sheer red-rosey pink, to trial for you all.  As with all the Balm packaging, this came in a super cute vintage inspired box.

Stainiac “hint of tint” works with all skin tones. Dab just a touch on your cheeks or lips, or layer to pop the color. Fear not those dreaded streaks most tints leave behind - Stainiac’s aloe-infused formula is designed to give you more time before the stain sets.
How to Apply  Dab this stain on your cheeks and blend with your fingers. Use the wand to apply to your lips. Layer to build color.

One swipe is all that is really needed for your cheeks.  While I applied it several times on my lips to get a bit of opaque color.  It dries to a semi matte finish.

This 'stain' product is something new to me and I quite liked the idea of a sheer product to use while staying at home all day.  Is this a product you could see yourself using?

thebalm.com recently has the Australian shop section under construction. But the products are for sale in David Jones stores or you can find a stockist by calling 02 94776900.

Ye Old Faithful

BTW, have all you Aussie chicks entered my GIVEAWAY yet???
Hurry up, it finishes in a few days!

The Daily Bakelite stack.  How I do love my Bakelite.

My new Trashy Diva sunglasses!  Such a bargain for $12!

So, I guess all us chickies have an old faithful dress.  One that you can just chuck on in any Season and it'll end up looking not too bad.  The one that's slightly too big for those fat days and a little faded cause we wear it so damn much.  This 50's day dress is one of those for me.

It's still quite cold so I *had* to wear a 50's beaded cardi and my 2 years ago ASOS leather boots that cost me $15.

The Daily Novelty brooch grouping.

You guys ever photograph your old faithful's?

Essence Me & My Ice Cream Collection

Essence sent me a preview of their new Me and My Ice Cream Collection!  Pastels are HUGE now that it's hot warm weather here in Oz.  And the 'beads' nail trend seem to be everywhere you look in the cosmetic aisles.

I got the Ice cream nail topping stickers, which look like sprinkles.

From left to right: Ice, Ice Baby which is a pale Lilac, Icylicious is a Peach and Ben & Cherries is a barely there pale Pink.

Each color needed 4 coats to become opaque.  But that nail sticker was NOT going anywhere anytime soon.  After 3 days I had to really scrape that sucker off.

I then stamped with Konad white decorations of donuts, candy and cupcakes.  Unfortunately I didn't have an ice-cream stamp.  Finished with a few rhinestones.

This photo shows the nail topping sticker after 24 hours,  The tip has worn away a little, which was due to the sprinkles being on the very tip.   And a few of the sprinkle beads had flown off.  I am looking forward to trying more Essence nail stickers, if released, as the wear on them was extremely impressive.

The Me and My Ice-Cream collection is out on Counter October/November, and exclusive to Priceline.

.....to a color I swore I would never go.....Cherry Red.  But, it was bleached and bright Copper so I thought What the Hell?  Altho people have commented that this color suits me a lot better than the Copper...I miss the Copper.  This 'faux red' is really NOT me and it's going quite soon.
