Recent Thrifty Finds

I have developed a recent passion for pixie figurines.  I have absolutely no idea why....one day out browsing they just grew on me.  These vintage Japan made salt n pepper shakers I picked up at a recent Fair.

A local Heritage listed home opened it's doors over the Easter weekend and had a vintage sale!  Unfortunately I got there a day after it started and was told about the wonderful things people got at bargain prices.  Just kill me NOW!  I still found a few bits and pieces.  The above 3 plates were $4 each.  The top one is already pre drilled to make into a cake stand!

A selection of vintage scarves.  Aren't the 2 above gorgeous?  All for $5 total.

And boxed Deadstock lingerie for $5 a box!  The pink is a babydoll nightie top with matching knickers.  The chocolate is a bullet bra petticoat.  Very happy!

And there was a selection of boxed deadstock napery.  I got the best of the unwisely stored and slightly stained bunch. $5

What have you guys scored lately?

50s Day Dress and Birds Of Paradise

Only 1 outfit photo today, Miss 11 took a horrid job of taking them and most had to be deleted.
The trials of using your children for professional photography purposes....sigh.

This 50's day dress is a favourite as the color flatters my skintone and hair.  And the collar stands up.  Always a bonus.

The hair flower makes it first appearance today and is made by Uncle Fezter Flowers.  I buy my hair flowers exclusively through Steve now as I have learnt it's worth the few extra bucks to get an exceptionally well made piece of art.

No mascara! The HORROR!

Girly Bits Eggnogoholic

The second polish I won from Femme Fatale and Lacquerheads of Oz Giveaway.  This was 2 coats of Girly Bits Eggnogoholic.  I have a very soft spot for white polish and this one had perfect smooth formula and tiny gold glitter.  Stamped with Konad Warm Black on day 3 of wear and finished with a coat of Seche QD.

Femme Fatale DISPLACED DREAMS

I won me a competition over at Lacquerheads Of Oz! And included is an unreleased shade from Femme Fatale Cosmetics! Yay for me!

Yummy Milky Strawberry Pink base with large and small glitters in Red, Pink and Purple shades.  This was 2 coats and no base coat is needed to acheive opacity.

I am unsure on the release date Sophie has for this baby, but please join up with an account to stay abreast of all good polishy news!  Thanks again Sophie and Lacquerheads girls for my great prize!

Gelicious Aztec Blue

Recently, Gelicious posted a Facebook offer on their page offering starter kits for 70% off RRP. Even tho I own a UV lamp, and several bottles of Gel polishes and base/top coats, I was interested in trying Gelicious so purchased a set for $64.50 with free postage. It came with a LED/UV lamp, Aztec Blue and a top coat.

This is 4 thin coats of Aztec Blue, each cured for 1 minute between coats, and finished with Gelicious top coat, cured for 2 minutes.

Even tho it still has visible nail line, I really love this color and was extremely happy wearing it until day 6 when this happened:

This is the first time a Gel brand has peeled ans snapped off so badly after only 6 days of wear.  As you can see, the rest of the fingers were perfect, without any tipwear.  I had nail art plans for this color when I reached a week of wear, so I was a little disappointed.  I could have repainted this finger and kept on going...but you know what us nail freaks are like, can't keep the same color on for too long anyway!

I'm eager to try the Gelicious black as I haven't yet had a good run finding a decent Gel black formula.  Anybody else have either of these colors and what do you think of Gelicious?

I Like Lookin' At Girls Like Yoos

"I like lookin' at girls like yoos" said a flannel shirted, beanie headed, grubby fluro vested, dirty beaded vendor at the local Trash n Treasure.  "Ya look like me Ma used to look....but a bit better version."

What the hell.  I'll take a compliment from whoever gives one.

And here's a bullet bra to YOU random trash n treasure vendor!

Crows Toes HELL HATH NO FURY

Oh no, I'm about at the end of my Crows Toes polish adventure!

This one was voted by The Sexiest Man as his fave manicure ever and said it reminded him of a Hot Rod car.  1 Coat of Hell Hath No Fury over a coat of Black, finished with Seche QD.  Above 2 pics are in full sunlight, photo below in shaded natural light.

Want this beauty?  Overall Beauty and Llarowe stock it, but be quick!

Enchanted Polish Magical Mystery Tour

Preciousssss!  Isn't this rather lovely?  Magical Mystery Tour is the easiest color shift polish I have in my collection.  I layered it over black for these photos, as it didn't get dark enough for my linking on it's own afer 3 coats.

All these photos are in shaded natural light, no flash.  Easy peasy color shift....no trying to coax it out in the sun for this baby!

And in full sunlight those holographic sparkles come into play with full on bling.

2 coats of Magical Mystery Tour over a coat of Black and finished with Seche QD.

Lustables!
